Partial Reflection of Light is a quadrophonic sound installation created for Kulttuurisauna and Drifts Festival 2026. Reworking material from Väinö Karjalainen's debut solo album Birch Bark Letter (2026), the work navigates two interfaces: the surface of water as a boundary between worlds above and below, and the edge where nature meets built environments.

Bio
Väinö Karjalainen is a Helsinki-based musician, producer, and audio engineer, known for his work behind the console and for shaping records across Finland's contemporary music scene. With Birch Bark Letter (2026), Karjalainen emerged as a solo artist for the first time, releasing a full-length album of ambient and environmental music.
